As usual, B pace riders are welcome and a B pace leader to tend to your needs would be welcome and appreciated.

This is the second edition of a very popular and appreciated ride that we did last year in November. Meet at Newark Java in the Raley's shopping center at Jarvis & Newark Blvd. We'll go over the bridge and wander around the nice and quiet streets of Los Altos Hills. There isn't a major climb, however a series of short and steep sections such as Moody Road will catch your attention. Even though this is a no-dawdling ride, I intend to lead a relaxed B pace. If you plan to hammer and set an F pace, you may want to pick a different ride. We will have a quick and no-dawdle coffee stop in Los Altos.

This ride was so nice in August that I felt it deserved an encore. We'll start at the Downtown Niles Parking Lot, head up Mission Blvd. and work our way through the Hayward Hills to get to the back side of Palomares. Total climb will be around 2500 feet. The pace on Mission might be on the B+ side, but we will still have some regroups, so no one will be left back for very long. It should be a quick ride; last time we were done around 11:00. I might have something special planned to make the day a little more interesting...so stay tuned. (Rain cancels, threat of rain does not.)

There are three basic routes used on this ride;
1) The L-T Group to Carmel; 25 miles, 1-2, L-T
Follow 17 mile drive along the ocean front to Carmel, grab lunch at a Deli in Carmel, or carry your own. We gather down at the beach to socialize over lunch before a tour of the water front of Carmel. Return is on 17 mile drive via the ocean side.

Please join me as I celebrate my 20th lead of the year, weather permitting. (Just 81 more in December, and I break Al's record!) No fancy new route, I'm afraid. "Alternate" is just another name for the Calaveras Counterclockwise route--at a B+ pace--starting at the Downtown Niles Parking Lot. This will definitely be a "no dawdling" ride. I might have something special planned to make the day a little more interesting...so stay tuned. (Rain cancels, threat of rain does not.)
