Sun. Dec. 4 Reverse Palomares Loop
8:30 AM 40-45 miles, 4 B & 4M
The Back Side of Palomares is certainly not among the hardest climbs in the area and we all agree on that. Though it requires some significant effort that makes it interesting. We don't do it very often, so let's give it a try today.
Note the different starting point that adds a few miles to a loop that otherwise would be too short. Meet us at the Mission Coffee on Washington Avenue. There will be ride leaders for B and M pace groups. This will be a no-dawdling ride with no coffee stop to get us back at a reasonable hour. Though we will regroup when necessary, and at least the M-pace will have a bathroom stop at Niles.
Maurizio Gavardoni (408) 363-1848, mgavardoni@yahoo.com leads the B-pace group. Only real rain cancels, threat of rain does not.
Mike Northrup (510) 796-8832 gmnorthrupathotmail.com leads the M-pace group. Rain or threat of rain cancels, if unsure, call Mike between 7:00 and 7:45 the morning of the ride.

Sun. Jan 1, 2006 Happy New Year Resolutions
10:00 a.m. Various levels and distance
Start 2006 off right with a ride and gathering among bicycling friends. Eric and Gayle are having the New Year's Day rides and potluck at their house again this year. WOOHOO!! There will be a short family ride, a moderate ride out to the Bay, and a longer hammerfest. We'll aim to start and end at about the same time, and then stay to sample all of the potluck dishes.
Exact routes and ride leaders to be determined. More details will appear in the January ride calendar.
Gayle Tupper and Eric Dittmar 510-713-8771 or gayletupper@comcast.net
PREVIEW FOR 2006 1) Cinderella Training Ride Series; This series of training rides put on by the Fremont Freewheelers Bicycle Club, trains women for the Cinderella Classic Metric Century, an all women's event held in late March and run by the Valley Spokesmen club. The orientation and the first short training ride will be held Saturday, January 14th. This is a great way to improve your stamina and skill in a woman friendly environment. Look for more details in the January calendar.
Jamie Hyams { (925) 417-0703 JamieHyams@comcast.net} and her team are looking for additional volunteers to help in this training series so if you have enjoyed these in the past and are ready to help in any capacity, Jamie would love to hear from you.
2) Progressive Ride Series; We are also looking for a volunteers to co-ordinate the Progressive Ride Series and volunteers to lead rides. Darryl Wilson, whom coordinated the 2005 PRS, would like a well deserved break from the coordinating task but has offered to lead the occasional ride, and has some ride sheets from last year which could be a great beginning for 2006. Darryl, thanks for leading in 2005 and everything else you have done to support FFBC. If anyone has questions about the PRS duties please contact me; Ron Mitchell.
3) We snuck a 1/1/2006 ride into the calendar (see above) just in case you do not download the January calendar in time. More details will appear in the January Ride Schedule and I know Gayle and Eric would appreciate an RSVP.
4) Primavera; April 23; Keep this date open on your calendar. We have a team starting preparation but could use additional help. Later on we will be looking for volunteers for sag support, rest stops etc.
