FFBC Club Meeting Minutes
January 5, 2006

New Members
New members and guests were introduced.

Membership
Dave Ransom reported that the club has more than 400 members.

Minutes
Karen White read the November meeting minutes. The minutes were accepted.

Ride Coordinator
Ron Mitchell asked ride leaders to submit February rides, particularly for weekends.

Lori Sommer will continue leading Cinderella redux rides on Sundays. These rides repeat the route from the previous day’s Cinderella training ride.

The Progressive Ride series starts January 15. This is a series of rides that become progressively longer and more challenging week by week. The series is designed to prepare riders for century rides later in the year.

Cinderella enrollment has closed.

Clothing Sales/Member Outreach
Molly Michelfelder reported that new club clothing is available.

Molly and Neil sent cards to a few people recently.

Cheyenne Willey
Services for Cheyenne Willey, a former FFBC member who was killed in Iraq, will be held on January 7. Details will be forwarded to club members.

Primavera
Sally Wilson, who has volunteered to co-chair the Primavera, gave a report. Permits have been filed. New artwork is being developed. Rest stop captains are being lined up. Kevin Mahanna has volunteered to help Sally. Jamie Hyams has volunteered to co-chair. Barbara Fitzgerald will be the food chair. A volunteer coordinator is needed. The fees will be $35 and $20 for the family fun ride. The event takes place April 23.

Treasurer
Sydney Friedenberg gave the treasurer’s report.

February Program
The February meeting program will be the Pedal Pounder and Ride Leader Incentive awards as well as a slide show reviewing the Race Team’s 2005 season.

Meeting Location
The Silliman Center and Club Sport are prospective locations for future meetings. These options will be explored further with the goal of having a new meeting location for February 2006.

Bay In A Day Double Century
This year’s event takes place July 22 and will include a 100 mile route as well as the 200+ mile route. The Bay Area Bicycle Coalition (BABC) has asked FFBC to staff a rest stop and provide SAG support. BABC board member Mark Birnbaum will send details on what BABC expects from FFBC.

Program
Joyce Tanaka and Jamie Hyams gave a presentation on the Cinderella Training Rides.
