Did you know that this famous, week long bicycle tour began as long ago as August of 1973 with 300 riders with 110 completing the entire ride. The route that year began in Sioux City, Iowa and ended in Davenport, Iowa. In July of 2006 the start of the 35 th week long party on bicycles of over 8,000 cyclists, included a number of cyclists who have gained quite a reputation. Bert and Florence Silver have agreed to share their experience their fantastic experience with a slide show presentation complete with several close-up and personal encounters with a well-known member of last year’s Tour de France.
