Choose from two ride options of different distances. The challenging century route will take you on the scenic back roads of the Monterey and Salinas Valley areas. You will bike along quiet country roads, past manicured vineyards and perfect vistas on your way to terrific downhill into Carmel Valley. Challenge yourself on the infamous Laureles Grade on your return to Laguna Seca!!! The shorter option will take you throughout the closed roads of Fort Ord. Although short, you will find this tour to be challenging and equally as beautiful. The terrain is not too technical although you will not find many flat places on the ride. The scenery is out of this world and includes views of the Monterey Bay, and riding among native oak in the green hills behind Monterey, and yes, even wild flowers. The shorter loop of 10 miles is a combination of fire road with singletrack and is ideally suited for beginning off road riders. More experienced off-road riders can choose the 20-mile loop with extra sweet singletrack to enjoy all the great terrain that Ford Ord has to offer! Whatever distance you choose, these dirt rides are a fun way for the family to be part of the Sea Otter experience. A note of caution - very little of either Off Road Tour distance is suitable for trailers and/or children under the age of 10. The Rally is a large, friendly, family-oriented bike event extravaganza and affordable “mini vacation” dedicated to recreational cycling that transforms the Paso Robles fairgrounds and the surrounding countryside into a pedaler's paradise.
