FROM THE SUMMIT
Greetings all,
With fall in the air, we have had some beautiful days to be a cyclist. The overnight temperatures are dropping and the leaves are turning colors. A recent ride on the renown Flume Trail confirmed to me that fall is here. The groves of Aspens around Marlett Lake were a brilliant yellow. It was quite a contrast against the blue of the Tahoe sky and the green of the towering pines.
The National Weather Service is forcasting a series of storms to hit Northern California over this weekend and the upcoming week. This should make for some interesting (see: "mixed") cycling over the next few days. Wet leaves, in combination with a buildup of pavement oils, should make for some slippery conditions. Allow for extra stopping time both for yourselves and for vehicles on the road. Please take care and keep the rubber side down.
I would like to extend a special thank you to both Becky Denevan and Conni Smith for all of the work that went into this year's annual picnic. Quarry Lakes was a perfect setting to launch the morning rides and to relax and enjoy food and drink afterwards. For those who were unable to attend, we hope to see you next year. A good time was had by all.
As always, we need ride leaders for the upcoming ride schedule. The website is still coming along. Planning for the Christmas party will be starting soon. If you have an interest in volunteering with the party, please email me.
See you on the road,

Jeff G
