Members Meeting of Fremont Freewheelers Bicycle Club

CALL TO ORDER
Jeff Girard called the meeting to Order. 
Jeff made a few announcements:  Welcome new Board Members Gary Smith and Connie Nelson. 
Website completion scheduled October 15th. 
Club Picnic Sunday October 5th. 
     

REPORTS
Treasurer:  Jean O’Donnell reported bank account balances:
Checking:  $5,408          CD1:  $10,767            CD2:  $10,787

Race Team:  Please see report to Board

Ride Coordinator:  Jim Herman asked for Volunteer Ride Leaders to support the October Calendar for open listings.  Rides for all levels are planned for the morning of the Club picnic, Sunday, October 5.  The October Ride Calendar includes start and end locations near Quarry Lakes.

NEW BUSINESS

New FFBC Website: Final Draft in review.  New website completion scheduled October 15th.  The old website will be archived in case there is a future need.

Annual Club Picnic: The picnic is on Sunday, October 5 at Quarry Lakes Regional Park in Fremont.  Members and their families are welcome.  There is a $5 RSVP fee for adults, payable to FFBC.  Check the Calendar for Club rides that will end at or near the park in time the 12:30 pm lunch.  Armadillo Willy’s BBQ will cater this event.  An accurate headcount is needed – please RSVP by October 25 to Conni Smith at conni_75@hotmail.com or 510-471-8047.

Primavera:  Sunday, April 19 remains preliminary and availability of Logan High School is still in question for the Primavera.  With a confirmed date, early January registration is proposed and online registration.  The Event ride jersey order is under way. 

FFBC Clothing:  Ed Tanaka – ordering additional sizes and arm warmers.  Cycle Path is an additional resource for placing a discounted order of Louis Garneau Jersey’s.

REPORTS
Jim Herman: Progressive Ride Update – 2009 –
Brian Meiers  Prepared and introduced a Race Team Sponsorship Proposal.

RACE TEAM – Proposal Highlights

  1. Ride Safe Community Services and Give Back programs will be supported by the Team in 2009.
  2. All Club members will share the same benefits.
  3. Currently a group of women are forming an FFBC Race Team.
  4. New sponsor Chipotle pledges support.  The Team’s new jersey design for 2009 FFBC powered by Chipotle will be included on the jersey.
  5. New Race Team working on additional sponsorship. 
  6. Racing is going well with several recent strong performances.
  7. Winter Training Rides – Progressive rides will be listed in November.
  8. Sierra Road and Altamont Pass time trials are being scheduled.
  9. Total proposal request is a title contribution of $15K to the Race Team.

OLD BUSINESS

Jean O’Donnell: Budget Proposal presented for 2008-2009 fiscal year.  The proposed budget was unanimously adopted by the Board.
