Dale Blanchard and his family are in Bolivia
A couple of years ago I went to Bolivia to join my daughter and her family who were on their year-long around the world trip. My son-in-law had booked us for a mountain bike ride on what is billed as the World's Most Dangerous Road. It is called that because of the twenty-six or so trucks, cars and buses which plunge over the side every year.

That's me coming out of a tunnel just before we got to the narrow, steep, and this day, foggy road. Notice my stylish helmet?

Looking down the road just as we enter the narrow section.

We got to ride under waterfalls.

Notice the drop-off on the left side of the road? In some places those drop-offs were nearly 1,000 feet.

Our support van was three or four switchbacks ahead of us.

We had to cross a river at the bottom of a long hill. "Don't slow down", our guide warned us.

One person didn't listen.
