Smart Cycling Program
Topic: The Smart Cycling 101A+ Program
By: Wynn Kageyama, Cycling Education Chair, FFBC
I spent several days surveying commute cyclists in Fremont. My conclusion is that all cyclists observed were poorly skilled at driving their bicycle. This means there is a disconnected between education and behavior among everyday cyclists. This underscores the failure of current bicycle safety education programs by the League (LAB). I designed a solution that is currently being implemented and discussed on the city level. You will see the presentation and argument I presented to them.
