To guarantee there will be plenty of food, I will need an accurate headcount. Please reserve your place at the picnic table by September 12.
FFBC charges $5 for each adult. Children 12 and under are free.

FFBC Team at Palo Alto Tour de Cure
On June 14, FFBC had a team of five riders cycling the 42 mile course at the American Diabetes Society's Tour de Cure in Palo Alto.  The team was formed as a result of Bill Brier's encouragement and irresistible financial donation offer posted on the FFBC group yahoo page.  The team raised $1,495.

Wynn Kageyama is teaching a new class
Wynn Kageyama (FFBC's Cycling Education Chair) is teaching a new class called Beginning Road Cycling at Castro Valley Adult School (www.cvadult.org) starting Sunday, September 20th through October 25th.  This is an excellent way for new cyclists to quickly come up to speed to become confident riding on Bay Area roads.  With these newly learned skills you can quickly join the bike cllub scene.

The class is two hours each Sundays and will develop road cycling skills through coaching and learning by example and doing.  Graduates of this and my intermediate road cycling class are expected to have the skill and knowledge that of a club cyclist of two or more years.  They will have learned how to be good road cyclists without falls or crashes.  The aim is to have an accident rate far less than a similar club cyclist.

Students will learn to the latest behaviors in road cycling, bike mechanics, repairs, and emergency maneuvers.  They will also be with like minded adults who want to be part of the cycling crowd and want to attend an organized class.  Please help me to make this class a success.  Enroll now, class is limited to only 15 students.
