CALL TO ORDER / MINUTES
Gary Smith called the Board Meeting to order at 6:33PM.  The meeting adjourned at 7:30PM.  Minutes for the previous month were approved.

TREASURER REPORT
Iris reported the balances for the three accounts: Bank of America Checking, Bank of America CD and Fremont Bank CD.  She will post them in the Yahoo group for members to access and review.

EARLY BIRD RENEWAL
The board further discussed details of raffle prizes for members that renew their FFBC membership by December 31, 2009.  The raffle will take place at the February meeting based on the list as of 12/31/09.  Come to the meeting!

RIDE COORDINATOR
Jorge Gildelatorre brought information regarding the Ride Leader Incentive Program and Club Ride & Pedal Pounder Guidelines for review by the board.  No changes were made.  Jorge will begin the monthly ride leader incentive drawings at the February meeting for January ride leaders.  He will also do drawings retroactively for missed months.

ADVERTISING
Gary Smith has received inquiries regarding posting an advertisement in our newsletter and website.  Iris Goldman spoke to the tax preparer and he said we would pay tax on income if it were “unrelated to the club”.  She brought a document and said anyone is welcome to review it and report back.  There was more discussion regarding offering a featured link on the web page if the company offers a discount to club members and the possibility of sponsorship in exchange for advertisement.  More information is needed regarding the number of web page links available.  According to Wynn, live links cannot be used in the Spoke’n Truth, but we could use a picture or statement with the listed URL.  We are also limited in the number of pictures we can include in each issue.

MISCELLENOUS
Wynn Kageyama identified areas of the web site that need correction.  He suggested removing/relocating a few links and adding some that were on the old site.  He will work with Mark on his suggestions.

The Board appointed Wynn Kageyama to chair the Donations Committee.  A portion of our Primavera profits are donated back into the community and the committee will take requests and present the final list to the Board for approval.  Wynn will send an announcement to the yahoo groups to solicit members for the committee.

RACE TEAM
Garry Birch stated the Early Birds have started.  A member of the women’s team took second place.  Ride along coaching by World Champion Larry Nolan continues.  There are four new members this month with 10 or so pending.  The goal is 50 by year-end.  Evening training begins next week.  New uniforms ordered.

Pat Wei’s company, Chevron, is donating $500 to the race team.  The team is acting as a conduit; the money is actually for the club.  Thanks to Pat for putting in 20 volunteer hours!

CINDERELLA TRAINING RIDES PROGRAM
Judy Young presented the status of the Cinderella Training Rides.  We have 19 ride leaders, 10 substitute leaders and 61 students so far.  Club members are needed to support the rodeo.  We will have 5 stations.  It is a good opportunity to welcome the new members to our club.

Grimes Getaways Presentation
Nikki Grimes presented information on her company, Grimes Getaways Bike Tours.  These tours are set up for camping (hot showers, flush toilets, electricity, even laundry facilities at some locations) and they haul your camping gear and personal luggage.  Her husband, Dan Grimes, prepares all meals and he does ride support.  These are multi-day camping and cycling tours and for 2010 they again plan to tour Glacier National Park in Montana, Yosemite in California as well as a three day trip to Clearlake/Lake Berryessa.  Nikki shared wonderful photos from 2009 trips.  The scenery is breathtaking.  Riders enjoyed the food, local sights, evening campfires and the wildlife.  Check the website for details:   www.GrimesGetaways.com
