FROM THE SUMMIT
Spring is here! So is Daylight Saving Time!
The Primavera takes place this month. We need plenty of volunteers in order to have a successful event. If you haven’t volunteered yet, please do so right away. The Primavera is a major source of revenue for our club, and we depend on volunteers to make it happen. Also, if you have ridden in centuries, you’ll understand how important it is to have enough people to offer efficient registration, strong SAG support, a well marked course, memorable rest stops and a great post ride meal. When you volunteer for the Primavera, you’re not only helping the club. You’re also making it possible for your fellow cyclists to have a great day. If you have already volunteered, thank you. If you haven’t, please volunteer to help the club and your fellow cyclists.
I recently had to complete a self evaluation as part of my annual performance evaluation at work. That experience made me think about evaluating myself as a cyclist and group rider. I’m not suggesting that we undertake lengthy formal evaluations of ourselves. However, there are questions we should all ask ourselves about our cycling and group riding skills. What are my strengths? What are the areas where I need to improve? If we all consider these questions, maybe we can become stronger and safer riders.
I’ll see you at the Primavera and at the Primavera Workers Party.
