BOARD MEETING MINUTES

FFBC BOARD MEETING

DATE:  September 2, 2010

ATTENDANCE
Gary Smith (President), Iris Goldman (Treasurer), Karen White (Director-at-Large), Lori Sommer (Secretary), Jorge Gildelatorre (Ride Calendar), Garry Birch (Race Team President/Club Liaison)

CALL TO ORDER / MINUTES
Gary Smith called the Board Meeting to order at 6:38PM.  The meeting adjourned at 7:15PM.  Minutes for August were approved.  

TREASURER REPORT
Iris reported the balances for the three accounts: Bank of America Checking, Bank of America CD and Fremont Bank CD.  She will post them in the Yahoo group for members to access and review.

RIDE COORDINATOR
The calendar planning is going well and the September calendar is full.  We need a Get To Know Us ride leader.

RACE TEAM

  • The Race Team elected their Board.  Garry will remain Race Team President.  
  • A new bag for the 10x10 canopy was purchased since a wheel on the old bag broke.
  • Printing quotes for the new canopy are still needed.
  • Racing season is winding down.
  • Training continues on Thursday evenings.

MISCELLANEOUS
The Nominating Committee has a full slate of officers.  The Primavera and Cinderella Training Rides still need coordinators.  Someone is still needed to provide refreshments for the General Meeting.

FFBC GENERAL MEETING

CALL TO ORDER / MINUTES
Gary Smith called the General Meeting to order at 7:35PM.  The meeting adjourned at 9:00PM.  The meeting minutes for August were approved.  Three first time meeting attendees were introduced.

TREASURER REPORT

MEMBERSHIP REPORT
Dave Ransom reported 475 members and 328 memberships.  

RIDE COORDINATOR
See Board Meeting Minutes above.  Linda Fung is the winner of the $25 Bike Garage gift certificate for the August Ride Leader Incentive Drawing.

RACE TEAM
See Board Meeting Minutes above.

MISCELLANEOUS

  • The Nominating Committee (Marcella Casebolt, Dave Epps, Nick Marshall, Karen White) worked hard to fill board positions.  They met a few times and made lots of phone calls.  The following people are nominated for the 2010-2011 Board:  Gary Smith for President, Dale Bodker for Vice President, Terri Yi for Treasurer, Conni Smith for Secretary, Egbert Vallecillo for Director At Large, Jorge Gildelatorre for Ride Coordinator.  Garry Birch continues as Race Team Liaison.
  • The nominees were elected by a showing of hands from members attending the meeting.  Thank you to the Nominating Committee.
  • Non-board postions filled:  Marcella Casebolt (Newsletter), Vanessa McDonnell (Membership), Robin O’Hara (Member Outreach)
  • Non-board positions remaining open: Primavera Coordinator, Cinderella Training Ride Coordinator
PROGRAM
Heather Black, Marcella Casebolt, Julie Gilson and Vanessa McDonnell (aka the GOPHERS) introduced themselves and presented a wonderful slide-show on their 2010 AID’s Lifecycle 9 experience.  Great pictures, captions and music made it an entertaining evening.  It was easy to see it was an emotional experience and an adventurous 7 day 545 mile bike ride. They also provided refreshments.
