Good Times

On Saturday, October 9th the Freewheelers got together for an end of summer picnic at Quarry Lakes. There were a number of rides organized to leave the park at staggered times.  The rides varied in length and terrain. Ride coordinator “extraordinaire”, Jorge Gildelatorre, was there bright and early to pass out route sheets to all who needed them. Tim O’Hara led an EARLY morning departure ride of 78 miles to Moraga and back.  It was MANDATORY that it be brisk, in order to make it back before all the food was gone. Karen White, being the first one present for the 9am departure ride, happily stepped in to fill the short notice vacancy for a ride leader.  It seemed that everyone enjoyed their rides, and were happy to meet up for lunch, conversation, and beverages afterwards.  Thanks to the organizational skills, of the lovely, Conni Smith, the members were treated to Dickie’s BBQ for lunch and then cake afterwards.  A good time was had by everyone!

At the Top of Mt. Hamilton

The following weekend was Brad Baldwin’s, Mt. Hamilton Birthday Ride.  On the 16th riders rode the traditional 107 mile loop up and down, and to and from, Mt. Hamilton from Brad’s home.  It was quite a full day of saddle time with 7700’ gain in elevation for the group!  Special Thanks go out to Dave Ransom and Paul Heijn for their outstanding support on the occasion!  It was much appreciated!
