Treasurer Terri Yi reported balances for the three accounts: Bank of America checking, Bank of America CD and Fremont Bank CD.  She will post them in the Yahoo group for member access and review.

RACE TEAM
Please see the Race Team news mentioned in the Board Minutes.

RIDE COORDINATOR
Vickie Timmons won the Ride Leader Incentive drawing for January.  She will receive a $25 Bicycle Garage gift certificate.

PRIMAVERA
Please see the Board Minutes for update on this item.

PROGRAM
Wynn Kageyama reprised his “How to Safely Increase Cycling Traffic Using Scientifically Proven Expert Methods” presentation to local cities for the spending of funds earmarked for bicycling safety.  Following an analysis of 4 years of bike-car accidents in Fremont, Newark and Union City, Wynn’s bar graphs indicated that 80% of these accidents were due to cyclist ignorance and took place at intersections.  Wynn theorized that teaching ‘reasonable cycling skills’ would reduce 80% of bike-car accidents.   He proposes traffic cycling programs in schools starting with a 2-year pilot program with 7th graders and modification to current bike lane design.

AND TO THE JOY of these who remained at the end of the meeting, Garry Birch distributed gift cards good for one item from Race Team sponsor, Chipotle Mexican Grill.
