On Saturday, June 11th the Joseph Mendes Criterium was held in Pleasanton. Mike Baxter won 1st place in the Cat 4 race. It was a great start to the team having an outstanding weekend!  More success followed on Sunday, June 12th at the junior track championships held at the Velodrome in San Jose.  This year’s event had the largest turnout of cyclists to date.  Lindsay Kageyama competed in the G15-16 Omnium and the team sprint relay.  The Omnium consists of four events, the sprint, 500M-time trial, 6km scratch race, and the 12 km points race. The 12K points race and team sprint races includes all age girls from 12-18 years old.  In both events Lindsay placed third. Well Done Team Fremont/FFBC!

Those who are interested in giving the race team a try are requested to attend the Thursday Night Training sessions at 6:15pm, on the west end of Stevenson Blvd., with team coach Larry Nolan.

All parents of children ages 10-18 interested in Team Fremont's junior point series program should contact Garry Birch in order to join.  This summer is a great time to begin this program!

*In regards to last month’s Member Spotlight article, about the FFBC’s Palo Alto Tour de Cure, here is an update. This group of 10 raised $5,575 to support diabetes research and services, raising more than any other team in the "Clubs & Organizations" category. You all helped make a difference! Congratulations to this amazing group!
