FFBC BOARD MEETING

CALL TO ORDER / MINUTES
Gary Smith called the meeting to order at 6:30pm. Minutes for the July meeting were approved.
PRESIDENT’S REVIEW
Gary raised the following topics:
- A representative from the upcoming Waves to Wine ride has been invited to make a brief presentation at the Members Meeting.
- The editor of the Tri City Voice newspaper will interview Gary about the Club. This article should appear in the next issue.
- Board member elections will be held at the September 13, 2011 general meeting. Officers serve from October through September.
- Gary requested ideas for the September meeting program. Andy Sass suggested a panel exchange of FFBC members who have cycled in Europe. Please contact Gary Smith if you are interested in participating in a club program like this.
TREASURER REPORT
Terri Yi’s report:
- Terri reviewed the past month’s income and expense items and will post balances for the three accounts (Bank of America checking, Bank of America CD and Fremont Bank CD) on the Yahoo Group for member access and review.
- Vice President Dale Bodtker, completed an audit of current financial books (October 2010 – June 2011) as requested by the Treasurer and decided upon at last month’s meeting. He found no irregularities.
RACE TEAM
Garry Birch was not in attendance.
DIRECTOR AT LARGE
Egbert Vallecillo reported that one bike carrier is reserved for August.
PRIMAVERA
Primavera co-chair, Andy Sass reported:
- The Primavera will be held on April 22, 2012; this is also Earth Day. He as no confirmations yet for start or rest stop locations.
- Planning Committee: A call for chairpersons went on the Yahoo Group today and several volunteers have already come forward: Wynn Kageyama, jerseys; Jorge Gildelatorre, Family Fun Ride; Tony Flusche, Ride Day Coordinator (radios); Terri Yi, Treasurer; Cindy Maxwell, Advertising.
- Chairperson positions are still open for:
- Rest Stops and Baked Goods
- Registration
- SAG
- Signs and Route Markings
- Sponsor Coordinator
- Volunteer Coordinator
- The first Primavera planning meeting will be held in late August or early September. Andy expects the approximately 10 committee members to consider goals, changes and new ideas as suggested by club members and riders.
- A budget for the event will be presented at the September Board meeting.
NOMINATING COMMITTEE
Cindy Maxwell, representing the nominating committee, reported a failure to find candidates for FFBC President and Vice President. Tim O’Hara has expressed interest in the Ride Coordinator position, but that was not confirmed. Cindy says the committee has spoken to many, many FFBC members and feels it has exhausted all avenues for finding new Board members.
The meeting adjourned at 7:15 pm.
The next meeting will be on Tuesday, September 13, 2011.
GENERAL MEETING MEETING MINUTES
CALL TO ORDER / MINUTES
Gary Smith called the General Meeting to order at 7:30pm. Meeting minutes for July were approved.
TREASURER REPORT
Treasurer Terri Yi reported balances for the three accounts: Bank of America checking, Bank of America CD and Fremont Bank CD. She will post them in the Yahoo group for member access and review.
RIDE COORDINATOR
Lori Sommer won the Ride Leader Incentive drawing for July. She will receive a $25 Bicycle Garage gift certificate.

WAVES TO WINE RIDE
Waves to Wine representative, Kim Le, promoted this two-day charitable ride for multiple sclerosis. This 150-mile ride from San Francisco to Sonoma takes place September 17-18. The Ride provides all amenities, including camping gear. Minimum $350 fund raising per rider is requested. Volunteers are also needed.
PRESENTATION
Dale Blanchard provided a lively slide show and narration on The Washington Bike Ride, a weeklong commercial cycling trip recently completed by 10 FFBC members.
