FFBC BOARD MEETING

CALL TO ORDER / MINUTES
Conni Smith called the meeting to order at 11:00 am.
TREASURER REPORT
- Terri reviewed the past two months’ income and expenses. She will post balances for the three accounts (Bank of America checking, Bank of America CD and Fremont Bank CD) on the Yahoo Group for member access and review.
- FFBC’s budget year ended September 30. Terri presented and explained the 2010-2011 budget vs. actual results. With higher than budgeted income from membership dues and the Cinderella Training Series and lower expenses for several line items, the Club netted a small annual profit. A significant amount for storage facility rental is still outstanding.
- Next, Terri offered a new 2011-2012 budget based on expected income and expenses and on 600 registrants for the upcoming April 22, 2012 Primavera. The Board and guests discussed several expenses, including the newsletter, clothing sales and insurance.
- The 2011-2012 budget will be presented to the membership for discussion and voting at the next general meeting on November 8, 2011
DIRECTOR-AT-LARGE
Though not in attendance, Egbert Vallacillo reported via email: the Thule 699 Bike Carrier is deployed and should be back during the week of October 17. Recently ordered replacement parts for the Thule Carrier (tote bag, tool bag, chain/tube wrap) have arrived.
RACE TEAM
Garry Birch displayed a new red table cover. The washable cloth says TEAM FREMONT on one long edge and FREMONT FREEWHEELERS on the other.
PRIMAVERA
Andy Sass, Primavera co-chairperson, reported on the Planning Committee’s progress:
- Routes will likely be the same as in the past with small changes to the century route to avoid stop signs and have fewer turns. The winery rest stop may change locations.
- Event date, April 22, 2012 will not be on the same weekend as the Tierra Bella this year. Registration will be via active.com; early registration will likely be $45.
- Hammer Nutrition may be an event sponsor; goodie bags will contain the sponsor’s products plus other items.
- Other changes under discussion: food upgrades, medals for kids on the Family Fun Ride, mechanics at rest stops, use of compostable products, extensive advertising, transferable registrations at no cost, newly designed jersey, 40th anniversary logo design, new and better route and warning signage, thorough street sweeping before the event and discounted FFBC membership in conjunction with registration.
The meeting adjourned at 12:15 pm.
The next meeting will be on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at the Fremont Arts Council offices on Country Way.

There was no general meeting in October 2011.
