FROM THE SUMMIT

Hello FFBC Friends

Winter is finally making its presence known here in the SF Bay Area. Fortunately for us, cycling can be a year round activity, compared to many other parts of the country where the weather is less kind and more treacherous.  I hope that you are all layering to stay dry and warm, enjoying your coffee stops a bit more, having a hearty laugh, and staying safe on rides.  Please be extra cautious of debris, slick roads, and one another, as the weather gets a bit rougher.

It is hard to believe that 2011 is coming to an end, and 2012 is on its way.  Because of this here are a few important bits of information to share!

All FFBC Memberships expire at the end of the year, so now is the time to renew!  Please do it now and invite your cycling friends to join too!  Here is the membership form.

Save the date for the FFBC Winter Party on the evening of January 28th.  We will be having a winter party to celebrate friendships, make new friends, and basically have a good 'ole time. More details and a potluck sign up list will follow, but plan on a fun evening of food, music, and the return of the “White Elephant Gift Exchange”!

Two other things to mention are that the FFBC will be holding a Cinderella Training Program beginning in January 2012. For more info see the Cinderella Training Ride Program. Also, the 40th annual Primavera Century will be held April 22, 2012.  Online registration will open January 1, 2012. For more details see the Primavera page.

Well, that’s it for now.  Hope to see you out again on the bike in 2012.  My bike and I miss riding with our FFBC pals!

Happy Holidays to All!
