FROM THE SUMMIT

Hello Fellow Freewheelers

The FFBC Cinderella Training program has come to and end for this season after weeks of amazingly great weather on Saturdays.  The rainy weather finally did make a few appearances the last two weeks of training.  Some rides were cancelled, some were altered, and some remained as they were intended, depending what worked for each training group and their riders.   After 11 weeks of training the women were ready to ride the Cinderella Century.

Unfortunately, weather reports stated that during the hours of 7am-3pm on the day of the ride the probability of rain seemed highly likely.  This was a disappointment for many of the Cinderella trainees and ride leaders, but as many of them knew, it’s still just a probability.  Some chose to go and see if there would be a chance to ride. Luckily there was a part of the morning when it was dry, but once the rain started to fall, it started to pour.  Many of the women found different solutions to making it back to the fairgrounds, but everyone shared a sense of adventure!  There were lots of smiles and a great sense of a ride well done shared by all, regardless of the mileage!  Cheers to all the Cinderellas!  Fabulous Job this Season and Today!

Don’t forget our club’s big event the “40th Annual Primavera Century” is right around the corner.  If you volunteer you can ride the workers ride on the 15th, you get a free T-shirt, and you are invited to the Primavera Worker’s Party.  Now, that’s incentive enough for me!  Hope to see you all working at the Primavera on the 22nd!  Let’s make this event a great success!
