BOARD MEETING MINUTES

FFBC BOARD MEETING
LOCATION: Fremont Community Activities Center
DATE:  August 14, 2012

ATTENDANCE:
Conni Smith (Secretary), Terri Yi (Treasurer), Vanessa McDonnell (Ride Coordinator)
GUESTS:  Gary Smith, Ken Goldman

CALL TO ORDER / MINUTES
The Secretary called the meeting to order at 6:35 pm. 

The required quorum of four board members was not present.
The meeting was adjourned per the FFBC Constitution (Article IV, Section 5)

The five members present spent the hour discussing various club issues:

  • Treasurer Terri Yi reported an approximate $18,000 profit from the Primavera.  She will post balances for the three accounts (Bank of America checking, Bank of America CD and Fremont Bank CD) on the Yahoo Group for member access and review. 
  • Ride Coordinator Vanessa McDonnell, has been promoting new ride leaders.  She’d like to see more members post rides on the calendar.
  • Vanessa hasn’t heard from the two additional club members who, were working on new club jersey designs.  There’s also been no response from her contact for the first aid seminar the Board wanted to offer to club members.
  • Conni Smith reserved the South Ensenada Pavilion at Quarry Lakes Regional Park for the club picnic on Saturday, October 13.  Jim Takasugi has agreed to assist with the planning of this event.
  • Conni also searched for new locations for club meeting, including Fremont Adult School and Carlton Plaza, a senior living community.  Both places have rooms available for community meetings.  The Adult School offers a standard classroom for $9.50/hr; Carlton Plaza has a very nice all-purpose room for rent; price and availability are unknown.
  • The upcoming elections were also discussed:  who will run the program (Vanessa), who is eligible to vote (members present at the meeting), and the need to have a membership roster on hand to verify current membership status (Vanessa will supply.)

 

FFBC GENERAL MEETING

The meeting was called to order at 7:30 pm 
One additional member was present.  A new guest showed up later.

Ride Leader Incentive Drawing

  • Jon Graff won the July drawing and will receive a $25 Bicycle Garage gift certificate.

The meeting adjourned at 7:53 pm

The next Board and General Meetings will be held Tuesday, September 11, 2012.
