FROM THE SUMMIT

Losing Ed Tanaka was a shock to many of us.  It happened so suddenly.  I had seen him the night before, and a number of our members were with him on his last ride.  It was impressive to see so many FFBC members show up to honor Ed at his memorial service.  We have great memories of fun rides and good times with Ed.

We are dedicating the 2013 Primavera to Ed.  We want Primavera riders to have a great day.  We hope they will enjoy it and want to come back again.  We want them to tell their friends what an awesome ride the Primavera is.  We cannot guarantee favorable weather in April, but we can do our best at the things we can control.

Andy Sass and his team are putting together an event that will create lasting memories for the riders.  We are Fremont Freewheelers, and we are starting the 2013 Primavera in Fremont, at Mission San Jose High School.  We expect this to be a very good venue, with a place for riders to sit outside to enjoy their post ride meal and cheer for their friends as they arrive.  Primavera riders expect efficient registration, well staffed rest stops with plenty of food, strong SAG support and a great post ride meal.  It takes plenty of volunteers to make all that happen.  In addition to receiving a T-shirt and an invitation to the workers party, volunteers are appreciated by the Primavera riders.  If you haven’t volunteered yet, there is still time.
