Ride Coordinator – Vanessa
LAP (over 30 participants!), PRS, and Cinderella going well – except for two Sunday rain-outs.
It’s nice having dedicated ride leader for the PRS.
Tracy ride was great. Good team riding.

Treasury Report – Julia
Had 2 CD’s at two different banks. Now all are moved to Bank of America and cashed out. The board recommended that we move into a new CD as long as it is flexible and can be cashed out pre-term without penalty.
Lots of Primavera activity – both income and expenses.
Issues with multiple membership entries. There is no obvious cause at the moment.
Took care of Officers and Directors insurance for year.

Director-at-Large – Ron Mitchell
No case rentals.

General Discussion - Gary
Early renewal incentive – ready to do drawing at General Meeting.

Newsletter - Question came up on newsletter and how it’s created. We understand it takes about $100 to process and much information is duplicated from our website. Vanessa volunteered to look at putting the unique information on our website. She will contact Mark Davis and report back next meeting.

Fremont Earth Day event (4/26) – We were invited to participate. The club did participate a few years ago, but now that the event is moved to the day before the Primavera, it’s hard to get people to volunteer. This year having a bike rodeo – more kid oriented. Gary will email members about the event and see if there are any volunteers.

Business cards – it was asked if we should get generic club cards for anyone in the club to use and pass out at events, etc. It was agreed that would be a good thing to do.

Life Membership – the group agreed that we are still up in the air on this issue and really need to develop criteria for candidates for life membership. Further discussion is postponed to the next meeting.

Constitution and By-law update – need to add a few miscellaneous items and also the family/child age issue. If the by-laws are updated it would also be a good time to add the life membership criteria. Discussion postpones till next meeting.

April Meeting – planning to have a movie (later updated to be a presentation by Dale Blanchard).

Board Meeting Adjourned
7:35PM Ron M moved to adjourn. Becky seconded it. Meeting adjourned.

FFBC GENERAL MEETING

Meeting opened at 7:40 PM.
Asked if there were any changes or corrections to the February minutes. No issues.

Membership - Becky
306 memberships, 428 members. This is the earliest in the year that the club has gotten to this membership level. Due to on-line membership renewal – over 90% was done on-line.

Race Team Update – Chris
Chris gave the race team update which can be seen above in the Board meeting minutes. A quick summary:
  • The team participated in four events and got top 10 finishers in three.
  • The Tuesday and Thursday night training sessions (6:30PM) are happening. All are welcome!
  • Get ready for the team sponsored events & fundraisers if you’d like to help the team. Calaveras time trial (May 4th) and Cull Canyon team time trial (July)
  • The Team has  53 members  including 13 juniors and 7 women

Ride Coordinator – Vanessa
PRS, LAP and Cinderella till end of month
Cinderella coach – Julie Gilson – mentioned that training is going well. Only two have dropped – one due to injury and the other because needed a real bike. Strong finishes and good ride leaders. This year there were more working woman, many bought new bikes and the weather was perfect.
Tomorrow, Al’s Wed. ride, will be a memorial for Ed Tanaka. Joyce has reserved a room at Panera’s for a food stop – Joyce will supply all pastries. Daphney, a park ranger friend of Ed, will also be there.

Director-at-Large – Ron Mitchell
Announced bike container rental availability

Treasury - Julia
Posted the register report on-line at the Yahoo site.
Renewed Officer and Director insurance
Primavera seems to be on target. Could reach 1000.

General Topics - Gary
Earth Day event on April 26th – anyone interested in setting up a booth. There was no response from the audience. Gary said he would send out an email.
Early Renewal Drawing – Becky setup the drawing. The winners were:

  • Centripedal Bike Store gift certificate – Sydney Friedenberg
  • REI gift certificate – Tamara Smith
  • Bike Garage gift certificate – T.T. Tonnu
  • Chipotle gift certificate – James Wedewer
  • Peets Coffee gift certificate – Douglas Ward

Presentation - Bob
’Salmon self-contained bike tour from Redding to Crescent City and down to Eureka. There were many ups and downs yet the audience made it home safely with no vertigo. This will probably not be available on DVD or On-Demand, so if you missed it, well…

Then come to our next month’s meeting for another exciting presentation or movie. Dale Blanchard’s presentation is scheduled for April! Come check it out – it’ll be interesting and fun.

Meeting adjourned
