FROM THE SUMMIT The 2013-2014 FFBC Board term is drawing to a close. I want to thank this term’s Board members for their service to the club. Vice President Louis Friedenberg, Treasurer Julia Walker, Secretary Bob Miller, Ride Coordinator Vanessa McDonnell, Director at Large Ron Mitchell and Race Team Representative Chris Menicou have earned our appreciation for their service to the club. Many members avoid serving on the club Board, and they volunteered to do it. Club elections take place this month. We have nominees for all of the Board positions. Luis Facha has stepped us to serve as President, and I am very glad he has. Some years it has been a challenge to find a candidate for President, and Luis has volunteered. I am nearing the end my fourth term as President. The club has experienced highs and lows during my tenure as President. We all know about the lows. Introducing a new and popular club jersey, designed by Marcella Casebolt, was a high point. Another high point was when we offered the flexibility to join the club or renew memberships online. The Primavera has been very successful in recent years. It has become a bigger, better and more popular event. Andy Sass, the leader of the Primavera organizing team, deserves a lot of credit for this. The 2014-2015 Board nominees have good ideas for the club. I’m sure they will lead FFBC to new highs. Please join me in supporting them and wishing them well as they take charge of the club.
