24 FFBC members participated in the California Bicycle Ride, a seven-day trip starting and ending in Ashland, Oregon.  We assembled on Saturday, July 2 and camped on the football field of Southern Oregon University in Ashland.  We began riding the following day.  We rode from Ashland to Weed to Etna and enjoyed a layover day in Etna.  The layover day offered a few options.  Some people rode.  Some of us went on a hike that turned out to be more challenging than we expected.  It was supposed to take about an hour and a half, and it might have if we could keep up with our twenty-something guide.  After the layover day, we rode from Etna to Orleans to Happy Camp to Lake Selmac and back to Ashland.  We experienced a few hot days, and some of us got to know one another better.  All in all, it was a very memorable trip.
