FFBC BOARD MEETING

Call to Order
Meeting called to order at 6:39 PM.

Race Team Report – Chris Menicou
Chris noted that we are getting close to the end of the race season – last weekend was somewhat of a Grand Finale with the Red Kite Omnium, Masters/Juniors Dist and State Criterium and the Giro de San Francisco Criterium. We had a number of outstanding finishes in those races – see the results below.
There are two more big races before the end of the season, and then we go into the Cyclocross season. Road racing season starts in January.
November is when team members must re-up their membership.
Chris reviewed the following team results and provided the complete results later by email. This is for the last four weeks.

Director-at-Large – Trish Conklin
Active period for bike cases. All are now returned.
Trish also looked at alternate locations for the club meeting – she explored the possibility of using the facilities at her apartment complex. She later reported due to the costs, parking restrictions and HOA issues that did not end up being a viable option.
This was instigated because the Fremont Adult Ed facility was not open at our last meeting. Later investigation determined that it was an issue with the school district allowing their custodian to go home early.
Trish also brought 4 (four!) pizzas and garlic bread to keep our Board and club members happy (they were!). If you’re not here you’re missing out.

Treasury Report – Julia Walker
Julia reported $57k in the bank. Last month’s spending was largely donations – all of which were done except Abode. Some paper work is required in that case. There was some minor income – some new memberships.

Ride Coordinator – Dave Fishbaugh
Dave is focusing on the October calendar. He will be soliciting ride entries via email.

General Discussion
Terri Yi was present to discuss the jersey situation. Some discussion items brought up:

1. She suggested we should try to move the old Luis Garneau jerseys. Do this by advertising a sales price of $20 via email and the website.
2. Check on a need to do a new order on the Primal (newer) jerseys for missing sizes. Min order is 15 jerseys per gender.

Dave moved to enable Terri to:

1. Discount Luis Garneau Jerseys at $20. And to note on website, meeting minutes and bring jerseys to picnic and club meeting
2. Don’t initiate a new design for another year or until the Primal jerseys are sold out.
3. Terri to send out FFBC list email to find out interest on new Primal jerseys and whether to order out of stock sizes.
4. Whatever Luis Garneau jerseys are left (after picnic), look at selling at Bicycle Garage and Crank 2.

Julia seconded motion. It was approved.

Louis F mentioned that Oct 10th and 11th that Niles Canyon will be closed due to maintenance. If Maintenance is completed on the 10th then the road will be car free and available for bikers and hikers. Will depend on Caltrans. He will keep us posted. The club should organize a ride if it is available.

Items not brought up but that need to be carried forward as new business at the next meeting are:

1. Ideas for future General Meeting presentations (should be discussed before next meeting via email):

Bike Idaho people – give report about event?
Dave Walker – give report about event?

2. Cinderella Training – offer Jersey this year. Include in Cinderella registration for Coaching Group.  At least 30 jerseys to be included.  Marcella to design Cinderella Jersey for 2016.

General meeting was called to order at 7:45PM.

General Discussion
Main general activity this month is the voting of the board members for the next year. A slate of nominees had been put forward at the August meeting, which was comprised of all the existing board members continuing in their existing posts. Luis asked the members present if there were any other new nominees for any positions. There were no additional nominees put forward.
