The Fremont Freewheelers Bicycle Club (FFBC) is a non-profit club organized for the purpose of promoting all facets of bicycling including leisure, recreational, touring and racing, always with an emphasis on bicycle safety and education.
Formed in 1972, FFBC is a member of numerous local, state and national bicycle organizations that promote and protect the rights and welfare of all cyclists. These organizations include the Bike East Bay (formerly East Bay Bicycle Coalition)(BEB), Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition (SVBC), California Association of Bicycle Organizations (CABO), and the United States Cycling Federation (USCF).
For over 40 years, FFBC has been the proud sponsor of the popular Primavera Century. The Primavera is a club supported bicycle tour of the local area with four different distances: 100 miles (Century), 85 miles, 100 km, and 25 miles. The Primavera is held in April every year, usually on the second or third Sunday. There are worker’s rides ahead of the Primavera ride and a worker’s party afterwards.
The club provides a complete ride schedule for both road and off road (mountain bike) rides. Rides are scheduled for all levels of riding ability — beginning, intermediate and advanced. The complete ride schedule can be found on this site in the ride calendar.
For more socializing the club typically has a winter and summer party.
The club also has two active email messaging groups that all members can sign up for. Click on the highlighted text to go to that Group.
