November Club Meeting

November 1, 2016 By David Walker Leave a Comment

Mark the date, November 8 at 7:30pm, for the November Club Meeting. Yes, I know this is election day. This is one of the most important meetings of the year as this is the meeting where the budget is approved. Come to the meeting and make your voice heard (after voting of course)!

Are you a bicycle commuter and need to ride home in the dark? Or do you just want to know more about riding at night (shameless plug: maybe to do my Chrismas Lights ride in December)? Whatever the case, as a special incentive to come to the meeting, our own West Kurihara will be presenting light systems and safety in the following categories:
  • Daylight running lights
  • Early morning and late evening survival
  • Night riding
  • Reflective accessories
He’ll be bringing in a variety of head lights and tail lights.
As daylight savings time approaches, this is the time of year when lighting becomes a mandatory safety item.  There have been several tragic accidents with our own club members in the past few years that could have possibly been avoided with the use lighting or better lighting components.
I hope to see you there. If you have any questions, let me know.

New Ride Calendar on-line

October 27, 2016 By Bob Admin Leave a Comment

Thanks to the hard work of Dave Fishbaugh and all our ride leaders, we now have the new format ride calendar up and available.

It is a Google calendar view of all of our rides.

If you look under the “Rides” menu item on the home page, then select “Ride Calendar” you will see the new calendar. The October 2016 calendar will stay up until the end of the month.

Now you can go forward and backward in time, seeing rides more than a month in advance.

The ride calendar process will continue to evolve over time hopefully making easier for riders as well as ride leaders to use it.

Let us know if you have any feedback or questions.
